Deakin Downtown

Education, Workplace

Deakin University’s new corporate centre in Docklands called for an integrated and intuitive wayfinding system that would sit alongside the highly refined interior finishes and Deakin University’s eclectic art collection.

Our resulting design used a muted colour palette of matte black and antique white to provide highly legible messaging without cluttering the interior. We explored the opportunities presented by new 3D printing techniques, finding a solution using SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) Nylon printing to fabricate each individually modelled letter and pictogram. The signage sits beautifully alongside the stone and timber of the interior and creates a consistent language between the physical and digital signage elements.
