Perth Airport Wayfinding and Signage Guidelines
Perth Airport (PER) is a 24/7 gateway connecting lives, businesses and communities across Australia and the world. With some 16m+ passenger movements and a significant capital work pipeline to prepare for unprecedented growth, a new wayfinding guideline was required to meet changing customer expectations and prepare Perth Airport for the future.
Developing the new wayfinding guideline presented the opportunity to elevate the wayfinding experience to meet global standards, define a functional wayfinding system ready for future demands, and imbue signage design with a sense of place.
Our vision was for a clear, intuitive and inclusive wayfinding experience that supports operational efficiency and enhances the airport’s identity. We aimed to develop a wayfinding guideline and signage system that was easy to use, interpret and maintain. The system extends across all areas of the customer journey – from the highway to the gate and back.
We are currently working with Perth Airport and many collaborators to test and roll out the new system across existing and new areas of the airport.
